Description:

Spotted at the entrance of Cacupangan Cave. Brgy. Tagudin, Mabini, Pangasinan

Habitat:

EOL - The butterfly is abundant at low elevations. Males are known to cluster at damp patches while the females are rarely seen.

Notes:

Subspecies tmolus C.& R.Felder, 1862 (? = mindoranus Fruhstorfer) - Camiguin de Luzon, Luzon, Marinduque, Masbate, Mindoro, Negros, Panay, Romblon, Sibuyani.

I'm not sure about Strymon melinus because its range is "Throughout continental United States from southern Canada south to Mexico; southward to Venezuela. Comments: The most widespread hairstreak in North America." with no verified sighting in the BAMONA database in the Philippines. - http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Strymon-melinus
