Field Notes

Notes:

I'm pretty sure this snake is just a carpet python. But if anyone could send me a positive I.D. that would be much appreciated. The crazy snake nearly landed on my head. Just about gave me a heart attack.

The bird you thought might be a Little Shrike-thrush, you posted a reference to one of my photos. Although from the whole site, that particular photo is probably not the best. Your photo of the bird I think would be one of them :)
No worries! Which reference are you referring to? I'm not sure I've actually been to the Bushpea site before but I've just gone and had a look, it's awesome, well done. I'll definitely use it as a resource. : )
Thank you Shanna. I thought the python was only a young one. I hope it hangs around for awhile. I would like to get a few better pictures of it. Well I've started calling our guest by name, so hopefully we can see more of her. I would like to thank you also for posting a reference to one of my photos on Bushpea.
You are correct Nyssa, it's a carpet python. Only a young one, I think. Beautiful markings!
