Amazing what can be found here! I did my MSc thesis on this genus of beetles, which are widespread in SE-Asia. Although I examined several 1000s of museum specimens and spent several months of field-work in Asia, I was never able to figure out anything about this species' larval habitat. I always wondered how it can be so widespread all over SE-Asia and Africa, and why it was often found in villages or even in large cities. These photos provide the first ever information on oviposition and larval habitat!

It look alike much but not matching... Sadly there is lot information on American and European insects than Asian...on Internet.
Thanks for the lead AshishNimkar :) This is not a Soldier Beetle?
Alike one from Pyrochroidae of Tenebrionoiea family of beetles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenebrionoidea
