Description:

Cornus Sericea is a deciduous shrub that grows in areas with wet soil. It grows 1.5-4m tall. Though it appears red-stemmed in the image, it's fall colors can vary from bright red to purple in the winter months. During spring, it sprouts dark green leaves and bears small ivory colored flowers that resemble berries.

Habitat:

They grow in wetlands.

Hi Kiara, I'm pretty sure this is a Redosier Dogwood or Red Twig Dogwood. They grow in wet areas, which would make sense, since you found them growing near a water way. I hope this helps. -Ms. M
