Field Notes

Description:

It is a small bird of prey found in Latin America. This vocal species is often the most common raptor in its range. The eyes of adult Roadside Hawks are whitish or yellow.

Habitat:

Found in a tropical forest in northern Colombia.

Notes:

This hawk was perched in the same tree with an owl. The guides told me: look! There is the bird, its an owl - and I was like, erm... no its a Roadside hawk. But they insisted it was an owl. Then I realized we were looking at different birds in the same tree haha.
