Field Notes
Description:
Upperside is orange-brown with large black spots and dark wing borders. Underside looks like a dead leaf and is dark mottled brown with darker wing bases.
Habitat:
Spotted in the Cascade mountains near the emergency shelter at Government Meadows - above 4000 ft.
Notes:
This must be one of the population explosion years that they cycle - they were everywhere.
