Habitat:

Hilltop open grounds surrounding castle.

The Small Heath and Large Heath hindwing underside is almost identical, it would help to see a bit of the forewing underside to be more certain. In Continental Europe I see far more very similar species but those 3 seem to be the only ones in that area. There may be other pointers which are not mentioned in my book.
