Field Notes

Description:

This skink has a glossy skin, long slender body and tiny legs. The tail is longer than the body, unfortunately this specimen has a regenerated and scarred tail. I observed that this skink is more active and hunts at night .Actually its is a rare species in our region, or maybe because it only comes out at night thats why we seldom see it.

Habitat:

It spends most of the time under a burrow . Sometimes I uncover them under a pile of dump composted grasses in our vegetable garden.

Species ID Suggestions

Brachymeles boulengeri
