Field Notes

Description:

In relations to spotting @ http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8983586:

1st pic @ 120224 - Caterpillar stopped feeding on canna. Silky hairs turned slightly fizzy. It crawled over to the lime tree.
2nd pic @ 120225 - It has spun a cocoon on a lime leaf.
3rd pic @ 120226 - Pupa is barely visible.
Video @ 120228 - Vigorous movements detected - a hole appeared on the silky cocoon, probably due to that.
4th pic @ 120229 - Hole has enlarged. Black bands visible on pupa. What are those peeking out from the hole - feet?
5th pic @ 120301 - Didn't detect any movement.
6th pc @ 120302 - Cocoon worn out further.

No more changes until today. I wonder if the moth has already emerged. Or still in pupation. Worst case scenario - it's dead.

Habitat:

Lime tree
