JamieDorton Wow, Ive never seen them still in this form. Only adults & disgarded "shells". I used to klimb trees & catch them when I was a kid. Nice spotting!
Aaron_G They are definitely an indicator of summer, and they're pretty much my favorite sound of summer.
LisaFP When I hear them I know we are in the heat of summer, as a kid I associate that sound with the smell of a swimming pool and hot pavement!
Apple Great creatures, very important to the ecosystem. They have a great musical sound they make....in some cases a bunch of them can be so loud they are often mistaken for tree frogs.
Aaron_G They emerge from the ground to perform their final molt into adulthood, so this is probably just soil.
