Field Notes

Habitat:

pantropical distribution. Occurs naturally on seashores in the tropics and subtropics on the upper beaches and sand dunes and on seaside cliffs. In Florida, beach bean occurs on the coasts of the central and southern peninsula.

Notes:

There was quite a bit of this growing among the sliver of protected dunes in North Miami Beach. Very pretty and showy flowers.
