Field Notes

Description:

It is a large, colorful macaw native to humid evergreen forests in the American tropics.
<br><br>
It has suffered from local extinction through habitat destruction and capture for the parrot trade, but locally it remains fairly common.
<br><br>
A typical sighting is of a single bird or a pair flying above the forest canopy, though in some areas flocks can be seen.

Habitat:

Found in a tropical forest in northern Colombia.

Notes:

I got all excited when I saw this macaw flying, thinking it was the first time I get to see one in the wild. But then when I went to the city and told my friends, they reminded me I have already seen two 2 years ago.
I'm glad I still get excited when I see animals in the wild! :)
