Description:

This is a medium-sized canid whose grizzled coat varies from gray to white to brown to a rusty tan.

Habitat:

A generalist, coyotes can be found in mountains, boreal forest, eastern deciduous forest, and grasslands. They are even becoming common in suburban areas.

Yeah, coyotes (and other canids) just look more handsome in cold country during winter. They are very well furred and well adapted to the cold. Coyotes in high country like Colorado (where this photo was taken) and Minnesota (where I live) look pretty good all year round, but they are especially handsome in winter.
Beautiful! Much prettier than the scraggy specimens I see round here!
