Field Notes

Notes:

A tiny skink, about 2cm long (without its tail, which it had just dropped). It was very red in colour with a brighter red stripe along its face. It blended beautifully with the leaf litter on the track (see second shot) - I would never have seen it if it wasn't moving.

Species ID Suggestions

@dungeonmasterShu - thanks for the suggestion. I looked up Ablepharus and I can see what you mean (they're very similar-looking) but we don't have Ablepharus in Australia.
Yep, on the track between the swimming hole and the picnic area.
Ouch! Is that near the swimming hole at the waterfall?
