water snake, this young one was sunning himself on a cold windy day.

Habitat:

Lowland swamps, marsh areas.

The picture on Wikipedia looks just like this snake. My son is much happier that is was not poisonous :)
I hear that a lot even up here Pennsylvania and we don't even have them, Cottonmouths aka Water Moccasins, here. :3

Banded Watersnake I'm pretty sure or Florida Watersnake
This is not a Water Moccasin-it is a non-venomous watersnake
