Notes:

My bio class planted seeds from a 100-year-old Norway Spruce from my backyard and we discovered several albino seedlings. As these seedlings survive from the food in the seed and have no chloroplasts, the seedlings will not survive. The photo shows that the albino seedling is already starting to decline.

Hi Leuba. Propagation by seeds works fine. My verbage was a little unclear. What I meant was that the albino seedlings generally do not survive as they have no chloroplasts to support photosynthesis once the food in the seed is consumed. The green seedlings seem to be doing great. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the information. So, seeds are not the way to go as far as propogation is concerned for this species??
