Field Notes

Description:

Photos show it also in winter, when it can still affect people if touched.
Its a poisonous North American plant, well known for its production of urushiol, a clear liquid compound found within the sap of the plant that causes an itching, or sometimes painful rash in most people who touch it.

Recognize it most of the year with its three almond-shaped leaflets.
