Field Notes

Description:

A shrub fig tree fruiting with lots of small yellow fruits. The latin name "Ficus pisocarpa" means pea fig fruit for its small rounded shape. Fruits are distinct with the vivid yellow colour and the protruding rim on the ostiole at the bottom of the fruits.

Habitat:

Montane rainforest on a ridgeline.

Notes:

Borneo has more than 150 species of wild figs. The diversity is so high that you can find figs of all shapes, colours, and size. My organization (1StopBorneo Wildlife) is out to document them all!
