Field Notes

Description:

Brown, fuzzy fly that mimics a bee with wings that are dark on the front half fading to clear in the back. There are black spots on the wings as well. It has a long and stiff proboscis and short, round abdomen that appears gold at the very tip.

Habitat:

On trail at Blue Sky Ecological Reserve
