Field Notes

Description:

One of the largest species of deer in the world and one of the largest land mammals in North America

Habitat:

These elk were spotted in the foothills of Colorado.

Notes:

I believe this to be a small heard of pregnant females. It's possible there were a couple young males as well.

Thanks Isabella! I just think elk are so regal!
Good luck Christy! I hope you get some good ones! Thank you Gerardo!
Beautiful shots, Emily! I especially love the 4th - the doe with the weed in her mouth...wonderful!! I'm headed up the mountains today...maybe I'll have good luck too!
