Field Notes

Description:

Small black-dark grey slug, not exceeding 2cm in total size in this position (see pic N° 4, against the tips of my fingers as a scale). The mantle covers up to one-third of the total body length; and there are two well defined lateral lines, very light in colour.

Habitat:

Found under the falling bark on a decaying (but still standing) tree stump, m in mixed forest (oak, beech, spruce and fir) on a rolling hills at the feet of Jura range; Geneva lake valley.
