Description:

Red-headed woodpecker, sex unknown

Habitat:

Bur oak savanna within the University of Minnesota's Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve

Notes:

This population is one of the largest known to date in Minnesota. Observers counted 52 birds during the 2011 Christmas Bird Count.
