Description:

Cap: Up to 2 in. wide. (This one is smaller); dark reddish brown to brownish red at the center, pinkish or paler outward. Margin scalloped.

Habitat:

Saprobic; usually clusted but scatted or solitary at times on the wood of broadleaf trees.
