Red breasted bird with black head, tail and wings. Wings have white spots which give it its name. Eyes are red. "They have a round, chunky body, fan shaped tail, short, thick beak, and dull pink legs." - Wikipedia

"They nest either on the ground or low in bushes, seldom more than 1.5 m above the ground. The female builds the nest over a period of about 5 days. It is bulky and sturdily made of leaves, strips of bark, twigs, forb stalks, and grasses, lined with pine needles, shredded bark, grasses, and sometimes hairs." - Wikipedia

Birds can be really tough! Ashish, at least you can see the overall shape and coloring. That can usually be enough for an ID.
Cindy you are right.. such dark plumage birds are tough to grab with good pictures.. I had such bad result with bad light when this bird was just 25 feet away from me. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/9131070
Thank you! Donna, I was so happy to spot this one on a branch. I only see them under brush looking for bugs and it's so hard to get a decent shot!
Nice series. Love this species. It's rare to see them out in the open like this.
