Field Notes

Description:

The white-tailed deer is a medium-sized deer native to the United States (all but five of the states), Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America as far south as Peru. It has also been introduced to New Zealand and some countries in Europe, such as Finland, Czech Republic, and Serbia. In the Americas, it is the most widely distributed wild ungulate.

Habitat:

Radnor Lake state park

Notes:

I spotted a small herd of about a dozen does by one of the trails across the ridge.

Excellent photos! I love when she is licking her leg. HA! Of course the tongue one. HA! LOL!
Thanks Christy & Leuba! I took about 30 photos & they all turned out really well so it was difficult to narrow down to just six. I see these guys regularly at the lake but usually they are further away & in deep shade so to catch them up close & in perfect light was fantastic!
Great pics of this beautiful deer, Karen. I like pic # 4-looks like it's on a catwalk...Pic #6 is a gorgeous shot !
Adorable! I love the one where she's licking her chops...great expression! Great series of pics, Karen!
I was Jeannette, & they are!
Thanks Christiane! I was very lucky, she was right by the trail & didn't seem at all perturbed by my presence!
