Thanks for the info, Seema :) I was actually wondering why it was doing that and how it was able to balance in only one skinny leg.
It may be out of context, but I felt compelled to share.. this fascinating habit of some birds to stand on one leg is due to a phenomenon called 'rete mirabile' It has something to do with preventing heat loss from body
