Field Notes

Description:

Long-tailed warbler, small, not exceeding 12 cm in length. It has grey-brown back, with russet edges on wing feathers. It also shows white throat, chest and supercilium; and buff flanks.

Habitat:

The most abundant and widespread of all african long-tailed warblers; present almost in all habitats in sub-Saharan Africa. Found in a wooded area, secondary but dense growth very close to banks of river Congo. Those were outskirts of a settlement closed in primary forest, and the place where inhabitants had their vegetable gardens.
