Description:

Also known by Coffeeweed, Colorado River-Hemp, and Peatree. The name coffeeweed has been given to several similar plants who have been sought out as a replacement for coffee, but reports show that the seeds of this plant are actually hazardous/somewhat toxic!

Habitat:

In gravelly sediment at the bottom of a stream bed. There were quite a few plants growing in this area that is often underwater. This species tends to spread its seeds via water and often springs up along water ways like this.
