Field Notes
Description:
Large phasmid measuring about 20cm from head to the tip of the abdomen; brown/grey cryptic colouration with some green on thorax's spiny protrusions; serrated ridges on legs, being most prominent on 1st pair; forewings are less than half the length of hindwings. Pictures #5, #6 are of what I believe to be a nymph. However, these were taken on a different occasion in the nearby Goldsborough Valley.
Habitat:
Tropical rainforest in far north Queensland in eastern Australia. The first four pictures were actually taken on a campsite in he town of Cairns.
