Description:

This coconut (Maphrao Nam Hom), a relatively new variety I believe, has been developed specially to be eaten when it is still green. It's juice and young tender meat have a certain fragrance lacking in the old variety and are also sweeter. My landlady, pours the water from the freshly cut coconut into a container, scoops out the young flesh, adds them together and puts it in the fridge for half an hour before eating it. Delicious and refreshing!

Notes:

Tender coconut water also has amazing medicinal properties - http://coconutboard.nic.in/tendnutr.htm
