KarenL - When I was a teenager they were getting so out of control in town that the Council was considering culling them. I can't remember what the outcome was, but even though I knew about the "starling problem" I couldn't have ID'd a starling if I tripped over it!
Nice series! They are a man made problem - they were introduced to the US & Australia!
I reckon you guys are right - it doesn't have the yellow beak, but everything else looks right. And starlings ARE a known problem in Tamworth.

3,4 make it seem like a starling.
the 3rd and 4th pics seem to be a Common Starling. this is an introduced specie in Australia. http://www.birdforum.net/opus/Common_Starling
Hmmm, I'm not sure that is a Little Wattlebird either? What do you think about a Common Starling?
