Field Notes

Description:

Tiny black and white frog (2 cm).

Habitat:

Jungle of the Amazon region.

Notes:

I spotted this frog in French Guiana, in the 1990s.
Very conspicuous when resting on a leaf, it immediately falls down to the ground, rolls over on its back showing its dull grey belly when disturbed and stays motionless, thus becoming invisible.
