Field Notes

Description:

A Bug Burrito? Something has folded itself into a nest/cocoon of oak leaves tied together by some sort of webbing or silk. Pics above are 1) looking straight into the "nest" 2) Top side of the oak leaf "nest" with some visible webbing 3) a nearby "node" that looked like it was beginning to spin a similar nest and 4) Underside of the "nest" of the first 3 photos. Not sure about the oak variety, but it's native. I'd love to know what's growing in there

Habitat:

West central ga. Oak near driveway, semi shaded.
