Field Notes

Description:

Up to 60mm tall; pileus deep orange flat cones with small regular white pucker marks at margin; white 'double' gills; white stipe with no frill;

Habitat:

In wood chips used for mulch by local reserve management.

Notes:

A common name is Redlead Roundhead.
Used to be known as Stropharia aurantiaca.

I like this spotting - I agree it's a nice pic #1 !
Thanks martin. The onset of mushroom season is definitely intimidating... I think I have so far failed to ID my last 4 or 5 fungi.
I like this mushroom. Pic # 1 is framed very nicely. I've noticed less insects since days get shorter and I can forsee a refocus on fungi for me too. No help with ID from me. This will be my learning curve.
