Field Notes

Description:

Shining black feathers. Bright orange-yellow patches of naked skin and fleshy wattles on the side of its head and nape. Bright yellow beak and legs that stand out in bright contrast to the feathers.

Habitat:

Resort on Havelock Island.

Notes:

I felt sorry for the owner of the Papaya trees (Carica papaya) ...what with Pycnonotus jacosus

and this one...the owner would not have tasted any of the fruits of his labour...not so say I grudge the birds their feast though.
