It's a Cicindela aurulenta, Cicindela japonica's patterns are different a little bit.
OK so... If you google Japanese Tiger Beetle (images) You'll see that in some sights ones that look just like yours have been labeled as Japanese ex: http://rhamphotheca.tumblr.com/post/16871902963/theblueplanet-japanese-tiger-beetle-cicindela But I also see a different color pattern on most: http://www.richard-seaman.com/Insects/Japan/Beetles/Tiger/index.html I don't know if they come in different color patterns, or if it is a gender thing, or if the ones like yours have been miss IDed. I hope this narrows the search down though.
Tiger beetle, not sure exact species. I'll look around a bit. Awesome pic and colors. Love the last "face" pic. These guys always look like they mean business.
