Field Notes

Description:

Note the hand-like pattern on the wing.
Mostly tan in color with lighter tan pattern on wings. Inner margin on hind wing has larger more defined markings than the Hobomok, and Sachem skippers.

Habitat:

Spotted sitting on the "volunteer" Sassafrass tree that is in my front flower garden.

Notes:

Of all of the skippers, these are the most common that I come across at my home probably due to prevalence of their host plants.
