Field Notes

Description:

Large eagle with white head and tail, although juveniles are a mottled brown

Habitat:

Temporary wetlands adjacent to highway

Notes:

There were three juveniles baldies: two in the air and one on the ground. Since it seemed they could have just picked off any one of the coots easily, I am guessing this was play hunting.

Note the eagle on the ground in photo 3 - we didn't see this one sitting there for some time
