Description:

Erect plant with many leaves and stems forming a tight clump 12 inches or more tall. Lower leaves are long, narrow, and pointed. Upper leaves on flower stem are clasping. Flower looks like a small, lavender-blue face.

Habitat:

One colony is covering semi shady hillside, in limestone soil. Another is in full sun, growing in gravel over a thin layer of soil.

Notes:

Very lush and dense in spring. When they finish blooming and heat of summer hits, they quickly dry up and vanish.
