at the start it is sometimes more than just confusing, but keep going, try to get to the families first. After that it get more easy, the only thing which is stll confusing are the constantly changing taxonomy. good luck argybee
Thanks for that Alex. I just can't keep up with this fungi business. They come in faster than I can ID them. I have given up on this one for a while.
take a look at polyporus leptocephalus ( http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&sugexp=frgbld&gs_nf=1&cp=11&gs_id=16&xhr=t&q=polyporus+leptocephalus&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1110&bih=688&wrapid=tljp1332076813675020&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=GOFlT4LVMIax0AWZ0uWQCA ) --- they look similiar, compare them. But surely shoud it be a polypore {narrow further in }--> polyporus sp. ( http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&q=polyporus&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1110&bih=688&wrapid=tlif133207670036810&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=pOBlT775DoHQhAfrvM2NCA ). good luck. :)
