Field Notes

Description:

Robust with short body and short slender tail. Many narrow bands on body and tail (9-14 on body, 8-10 on tail). A prominent broad black stripe from eye to above ear.

Habitat:

Semi arid to arid areas from sand plains and dunes to stony hills with sparse spinifex.

Notes:

Found basking on the side of the road in the afternoon near Winton.
