Is this holly?

Species ID Suggestions

American holly

Ilex opaca

Oregon-grape

Mahonia aquifolium

Comments (1)

This can't be Oregon grape. Mahonia has holly-like leaves, but they have opposite arrangement (two leaves coming off the same spot on the stem,or node). Holly has alternate arrangement (one leaf per node), clearly visible on the twig in the lower left.
