Field Notes

Description:

A pretty solid clam shell in light brown colors with a neat pattern of white rays. Maybe a rayed trough clam?

Notes:

The hole indicates its method of demise, at the hands, or rather raspy tongue, of a predatory snail. An egg sac of the predatory snail is discovered nearby see pic 3. See http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8361533 for an earlier discussion on this species.

Species ID Suggestions

Another mollusca, sadly still without ID.
This is possibly a venus shell, it should be easy to ID but haven't spotted it yet. Yes Leuba but I couldn't find the snail anywhere.
I was going to ask about the hole... Good info...
