Field Notes

Description:

Males and females similar - mottled brown, cream and darker brown, off-white eyebrown stripe and below cheek, belly off-white, chest streaked brown, wings and tail brown edged with white. Slender bird up to 17cm, brown eyes, yellowish legs and beak (upper mandible dark). Often bobs up and down as it walks.

Habitat:

Found throughout Australia in all terrain, also found in many countries around the world.
