I know we get an enormous number of tree frogs in our backyard and also live with the freeway in our backyard by about 400 ft. and most nights in the summer the frogs are louder than the traffic. And, I find that if you play music, they get louder.
@Apple - To say he was loud takes away from the other 20k other frogs that were all in the same little pond...haha. To be honest, they were so loud as to make your ears ache. My wife could not get close enough to actually see the little guys; it was hurting her ears so badly. I have a video on another post about garter snakes. If you play that video, you can hear the frogs in the background. When I shot the video I was about 100 yards from the frogs. It is hard to believe that such little frogs can make such a loud noise.
What a great display in nature! Was he loud?
