Description:

A mating pair of Mourning Cloak butterflies, shown in ventral view. These butterflies were very well camouflaged in their location under a fallen tree.

Habitat:

Huntley Meadows Park, a 1,425 acre wetland area in Fairfax County, Virginia USA. Related Resource: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/huntley/
