Field Notes

Description:

Pink abdomen and thorax, red head, wings clear with thin black veins. Resembles the Roseate Skimmer that I posted earlier. The Roseate Skimmer has a purplish thorax and a darker head.

Habitat:

Spotted at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas.

Notes:

Range: Central Texas, west into Arizona, south through Central America
