Description:

Large blue head with white belly. This is the male belted kingfisher. Seen perched on branches near water. Rarely seen away from water.

Habitat:

Fresh Pond, Delaware Seashore State Park, Bethany Beach Delaware.

Yes it does Mark. My little bird book says "has a ragged crest that is raised and lowered at will."
Funny looking kookaburra. Does the crest raise and lower? (pic 2 down?)
