Field Notes

Description:

European Paper Wasps (Polistes dominula) and their nest, spotted on an oleander plant, in Agios Nikolaos marina, Crete.
Polistes dominula originates from southern Europe, but they were introduced in all continents. They also have the propensity to colonize nearby human civilizations because human-made structures can act as great shelters and also oftentimes located close to the resources such as food (wiki).
