Description:
This dragonfly is common throughout the northern hemisphere. In North America it is called the Four-spotted Skimmer. In other areas, it may be called the Four-spotted Chaser. This dragonfly is predominately reddish brown with a black tip on the abdomen.
Habitat:
Ponds and wetlands as nymphs, but I often find them in upland areas as non-breeding adults.
Notes:
Also known as a four-spotted chaser in other parts of its range.
